Getting nowhere fast

Going nowhere fast

One of the things that might keep you from getting into the next level of leadership, income and impact; even when you are working hard and getting recognised for the good work that you do; Is being so good at what you do that there’s no need to promote you.

This happens a lot in the workplace, you find a department in chaos. You come in and work hard, sweep it clean, advocate for more resources, put it on the map. Then you end up being so identified with it that no one can imagine you doing anything else.

You are now known and are respected for what you’ve done but it ends there. Your area is working, they don’t have to worry about it. Why must they move you from there, you are doing such a great job. Why fix it if it isn’t broken? why mess with what’s working?

Meanwhile you feel stuck, bored and itching for the next challenge. You thought you have proven yourself enough to be considered for the next level but nope, you have actually worked yourself into a corner.

What you need is a strategy, a game plan. What got you here will not get you there.
