Are you honouring the sacredness of your being?
As a people whose identity is marginalised. Our competence, our ability to do and be anyone or anything we want to be is not an assumption but a question that can go either way – towards failure or success. Something that needs to be proved not only to others and ourselves.
Imposter syndrome is something we live with, something whose presence have to constantly be vigilant of. Our inner critic is strengthened by the dominant narrative that competence, greatness is not a natural given to people like us. It has to be proven.
It is therefore important that we honour the sacredness that comes with our being. Our natural talents, personalities, perspectives, skills should be held by us as sacred. We should honour the sanctity of who we are and what we bring to any space that we inhabit. Who we are is valuable, worthy and sacred.
